Bouhedma Camp
Bouhedma Camp
As part of the Participatory Action Research project funded by UNICEF, which aims to
strengthen the participation of children and youth in environmental protection and
sustainable local development, the Network of Children of the Earth Association is
organizing a field visit to Sidi Bouzid Governorate on August 29, 30, and 31, 2025.
This visit is part of a series of environmental and educational activities designed to
strengthen ties between participants and local communities and to highlight environmental
challenges and development opportunities in the interior regions, particularly around
protected natural areas.
The program includes a visit to the primary school in the Bouhedma area, where an
environmental-educational activity will be carried out for students as part of an ecological
back-to-school initiative. There will also be a field visit to the Bouhedma National
Park—one of the most important reserves in North Africa—renowned for its rare
biodiversity and unique savannah forests under threat. In addition, participants will visit
the environmental historical museum within the reserve, which documents the region’s
natural and historical richness, and celebrate International Bat Night through a scientific
activity involving bat monitoring with environmental specialists, aiming to raise awareness
about bat species, their role in ecological balance, and the challenges to their survival.
