International Bat Night - Lebanon

Type of event:
Educational,
Festivals
Event presence:
In person

Since 2012, The Animal Encounter- Educational Center for Wildlife Conservation in Lebanon, participates in the International Bat Night. We celebrate this event, by holding an open day at the center where we conduct several activities that are related to bats, their important role in nature, the services they offer for human wellbeing, and the importance of their conservation. This is brought about through awareness sessions, activities and games. The educational awareness sessions on bats include the introduction of different species of bats, while showing live bats, the role they play in the environment, factors affecting their existence, their status, and approaches for their conservation. The activities include several stations  showing the participants and visitors from different ages, how bats feed on insects and fruits, move around, using their echolocation, and how researchers work or cavers discover bats besides safety during caving... All of these are brought about through games and simulations.
