La notte dei pipistrelli

"La notte dei pipistrelli" is an nature educational event dedicated to bats and related conservation issues. The event is aimed at families, children and teenagers who want to get closer to the world of bats and contribute to their conservation and protection. The event takes place in the city of Cagliari in an urban environment, and in the countryside of the small village of Villanovaforru, in the evening. It consists of a walk from a meeting point, just before sunset, to sites known for the high attendance of bats. Talks are held on the biology and ecology of the species present in the areas, on conservation problems, on anthropological-cultural curiosities. With the help of a bat-detector and a thermal imaging camera, we offers the possibility of intercepting bats without causing any disturbance and illustrates the most common study and monitoring techniques.
