The celebration of the Bat Night together with the Voluntary Days with Solvay Sodi

The preparation of the voluntary days started with a research and elaboration of bat houses. With the support of experts from Green Balkans, an engineer from the factory developed specifically designed, innovative and modern model of a bat house. Together we have elaborated a total of 8 houses, which were placed in appropriate places with school students.
A team of “Natura 2000 in Bulgaria – New Horizons” project conducted training of the factory employees, that took part in the voluntary activities. An information on the hidden world of the bats was presented, and in the following days the volunteers made lectures by them self in front of students from 2 local schools – online and on place. 8 classes with students from 3rd and 4th grades of “Vasil Levski” Secondary School in Devnya and “Hristo Botev” Primary School, Chernevo Village took part in the celebration of the Bat Night together with Solvay Sodi. The lectures were presented in front of around 140 students from both schools. The bat houses were placed in appropriate habitats on trees in the school yard in Devnya and the village garden of Chernevo. In the spring, both the volunteers and students, will have the duty to check if there are any bats settled in houses.
Thus, the volunteers from Solvay Sodi became part of the bat conservation in Bulgaria, learning and teaching important and interesting information about the life and conservation of the flying mammals.
