Plecotus auritus_Jens Rydell
Since 1997, the last weekend of August has been dedicated to bats. What started in 14 countries has grown into a global initiative now celebrated in more than 50 countries!
Bats are amazing creatures – from controlling insect populations to pollinating plants, they play a vital role in healthy ecosystems.
International Bat Night invites everyone to learn more about these fascinating yet vulnerable animals and how to protect them.
Many events are still taking place in the coming weeks – check out https://www.eurobats.org/international-bat-night to find one near you!
