  • International Bats Night - Medzinárodná noc netopierov
    Event type:Bat Walks & Observation, Educational, Festivals
    Date:30th Sep 2023
    Location:Častá, Castle Červený Kameň
    Organiser:ZO SZOPK Miniopterus and Slovak National Museum
    Description:
    Castle bats belong to permanent visitors, or rather residents of Červený Kamen, who accompanied us both every year and for the
    entire season of 2023. They are mysterious animals, fascinating for some, scary for others, in any case rare animals. During
    the Harvest Festival, the SNM-Múzeum Červený Kameň will therefore join forces with the Miniopterus organization to participate
    in the International Night of Bats event.
    Under the baton of Blanka Lehotská and Roman Lehotský, you will find an overview of the most important species of bats, getting
    to know bats from Červený Kameň Castle, bat rescue, personal contact with bats in rehabilitation, demonstrations of tools for
    research and monitoring of bats, bat detectors, a short film about the summer colony of bats, but also listening to bat sounds
    using detectors.
