Comparable to P. macrobullaris, the Sardinian Long-eared bat has slightly darker brown dorsal fur and a paler underside. This species is still poorly known but it is believed to occur in olive groves and to roost in karst caves, tunnels and in attics.
Decreasing according to the IUCN Red List.
P. sardus is endemic to Sardinia.
Roost disturbance (as a result of tourism) and habitat loss (caused by forestry management) are the main threats to the species.
