UNEP/EUROBATS has launched a new projects initiative effective immediately. Competent NGOs and individual experts can apply for grants to carry out research, conservation as well as public awareness raising projects. The criteria and framework are described in Doc.EUROBATS.AC13.16.Rev.2.

It is important to understand that the submitted project proposals (max. 1 page summary including cost estimate) will be collected in an overview and forwarded to potential donor governments for consideration. Only if a proposal gets selected by a government for the provision of funds, the project can be implemented. Thus there is no guarantee. However, a number of governments have expressed their willingness to provide project funds and the UNEP/EUROBATS Secretariat is optimistic that several projects can be financed every year.
